Luanne McKibbin
Luanne McKibbin was born and raised in a small town in Massachusetts, in the Berkshires. Her along with her husband and son moved to Florida 10 years ago. After graduating from college, Luanne worked in accounting for many years. Eventually, she taught herself medical transcription and spent the next 20 years transcribing from home as an independent contractor. She picked up her first paintbrush in 2020 after retiring, strictly as “something to do”. Luanne is completely self-taught, her only training consists of watching countless tutorials on the internet that covered various techniques. After selling numerous acrylic paintings, Luanne decided to try her hand at colored pencils in 2022, which allowed her to achieve a level of detail she couldn’t get with painting. In 2023, she moved on to pastel pencils, which turned out to be her absolute favorite of the mediums thus far. In 2024, she experimented with watercolors as well, which she also enjoys. Luanne considers herself a photorealistic artist. She mostly enjoys doing animals, domestic and wildlife, as well as people of all ages. The first time Luanne entered a piece of her art into a gallery was in 2023, and to her surprise it sold! Luanne is thoroughly enjoying this new chapter in her life!
