Jes Booth

Jes Booth is a talented sculptor and art educator deeply rooted in the vibrant art community of St. Augustine, Florida. Born in Wales and relocated to St. Augustine at the age of three, Jes has cultivated a unique artistic vision shaped by her diverse experiences and personal journey.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and advanced degrees including a Master's concentrating in sculpture and an Educational Specialist degree in administration and leadership. With over 15 years of experience in art administration and a profound commitment to education, Jes has taught at both high school and university levels, instilling a passion for creativity in her students.

Jes's artistic career started in professional illustration, but her passion led her toward sculpture—a medium where she can explore the intersection of the natural and mechanical worlds. This fusion is not only a reflection of her artistic philosophy but also symbolizes her own life journey. Having endured a bear attack as a child, which resulted in her living with a prosthetic right hand, Jes transforms her challenges into inspiration. Her sculptures resonate with themes of resilience and hope, often evoking a sense of whimsy and invitation to explore.

In her works, Jes maintains a playful tone, capturing the balance between the organic and the artificial, much like her own lived experience as an accidental lefty navigating her world. Her creations have been showcased in various exhibitions, earning recognition for their innovative designs and meaningful narratives.

Jes Booth continues to inspire through her art and education, embodying the spirit of adaptability and creativity. Her distinct voice in the art community serves as a reminder of the beauty that can emerge from the complexities of life.
