Robert Arbogast
Robert Arbogast was born and raised in Maryland. He studied conceptual art at the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of California, Irvine. After obtaining his Master’s Degree in Fine Art, Robert had a studio based in Los Angeles.
Robert has since lived in various US cities, but when he landed in Boca Raton, Florida, he knew Florida would always be his home, and he eventually settled in Saint Augustine. Along the way, Robert’s career took a 25-year detour into Information Technology. Upon retiring in 2017, he returned to painting full time. His interests have spanned a broad array of styles and mediums, but 6 years ago he began to focus almost exclusively on watercolors and gouache. Robert has always admired Andrew Weyth’s watercolors and he has worked diligently to refine his technique, focusing on realism and creating his own approach to realistic watercolors.
Robert has exhibited extensively nationally and internationally, and his work has won multiple awards. He has a painting in the permanent collection of the Arkansas Museum of Fine Art. The Acacia Tree Gallery is Robert’s first association with a commercial gallery and he is excited to be able to expose his artwork to a larger audience.
